The Junior Statistician will be responsible for conducting independent validation on anti-money laundering (AML) models, statistical analyses and optimization of the transaction monitoring system. He/she will work in a team of experienced statisticians with global team across the globe and execute model validation, complex statistical analyses, data visualizations, data processing. This is an opportunity to excel statistical skills and practice your English on everyday basis. This is a position for graduates who learned quantitative methods and some programming language (R or SAS) during their studies and want to develop their competencies and grow their careers in a global company in a team of experts.

Requirements include a background in statistics and/or mathematics, preferably also experience with data analysis and/or data mining. Fluency in English and very good oral and written communication skills are necessary to present validation findings in a clear, understandable manner both in writing and verbally.

Experience and knowledge in banking, finance and/or AML will be an advantage.


  • Perform model independent validation of complex predictive models (decision trees, linear regressions, models for binary outcome) using SAS/R statistical software

  • Prepare model validation reports in a detailed, structured and clear manner, describing the outcomes of the analysis performed and include a conclusion based on the validation

  • Apply statistical methods to organize, analyze and interpret data to perform model validations

  • Use visualization techniques to display data and the results of analysis in clear straightforward presentations that can be understood by non-technical readers

  • Provide data pulls and reports directly from Oracle Database

  • Distribute validation reports and consult with model and business owners and other stakeholders such as senior management, on model validation results



  • Statistical/data analytical skills - including both calculation and interpretation of outcome

  • Programming and statistical/data analytical skills in at least one of the following: SAS 4GL, R, SQL

  • Knowledge of VBA will be considered as asset

  • Experience in reporting the results of analysis in clear written form, and in presenting the findings

  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Data Marts/Data Warehouses

  • Knowledge of Mantas will be considered as asset

  • At least BA degree in statistics/mathematics/technical science. Degree in economics/banking may be considered if strong analytical skills proved
