You will be reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer within the Global Sustainability, Compliance Department, with dotted-line reporting to AstraZeneca’s Head of Global Policy & Risk. This role is accountable for the day-to-day delivery of AstraZeneca’s data privacy programme, including the support of GDPR data privacy regulations.

Strengthening our data privacy programme is a top priority and requires coordination with and input from key stakeholders within Global Compliance and across business units. It demands flexibility to hold regular meetings and other discussions accommodating multiple time zones.

Main Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, triage and respond to the Privacy Mailbox. Requests include wide range of matters from simple admin tasks (such as access to historic Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)) to privacy guidance questions to questions from Regulators.

  • Monitor, review and approve global and regional PIAs and reassign as needed.

  • Product Owner for Privacy Module in IT Tool. Focus areas for this tool include: internal inventory, information incident process and subject request process areas.

  • Owner and driver for the Privacy Community in the Global Sustainability learning platform.

  • Maintain the privacy network membership.

  • Assist with meeting tactical items (develop agendas, create slides, drive action items, schedule meetings).

  • Attend internal advisory committees/groups.

  • Support data breach investigations. This includes the review, assessment and management of privacy incidents and trend analysis and appropriate remediation.

  • Manage and maintain the Privacy Office Intranet Page and SharePoint On-Line Page, per best-in-class practices.

  • Digital asset owner for all external facing Privacy-owned websites.

  • Review third party responses to privacy questionnaire and assure completion. Assure PIAs are completed, if needed.

  • Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) maintenance and support. This includes involvement with the annual report submittal.

  • Support interactions with in-country Data Protection Reps and Functional Privacy Reps (all part of the AZ Privacy Network), including supporting and coordinating the regulatory filing process to be carried out by the country privacy officers.

  • Provide support on the development of privacy training and educational materials and conduct training on privacy related matters as required.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • 4-year degree or equivalent qualification in a subject related to privacy.

  • Experience in privacy program management.

  • Demonstrable understanding of privacy and data protection laws/regulations, preferably across multiple jurisdictions. Knowledge of GDPR preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communications skills

  • Strong collaborative, partnering, and interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in fast-paced corporate environment, in a highly-regulated sector

  • High ethical standards, trustworthy, operating with absolute discretion

  • Significant experience of managing different stakeholder relationships and confident at forging trusted relationships at a senior level. Key Relationships: Chief Privacy Officer and privacy team, Global Compliance, AZ Privacy Network/Business Stakeholders, Legal Department/external counsel, HR, IT, Finance, Audit, Science R&D Units

  • Strong project management skills

  • Able to deal effectively with ambiguity, cope with change, and decide and act without having the total picture

  • Proactive with high levels of self-motivation and personal accountability, bringing enthusiasm and energy to team, peer group and tasks.

  • Inquisitive mind set with well-developed critical/analytical abilities.

Primary location is Poland with flexibility to be based in any other European country where AstraZeneca has offices. This role can be either career level D or E.
