The Module design Lead engineer is expected to follow the whole NPI process from concept design to product detailed definition and certification. He/she utilizes experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and long term business goals.
Define gearbox architecture for all the new application / NPI tasks making explicit the Design Intent, assuring the achievement of cost, weight and performance targets.
Conduct concept design and technical feasibility studies for all the design tasks
Discuss on daily basis with the customer supporting Technical Leader in Product Definition (geometrical and functional interfaces, engine Digital Assembly trade studies, …)
Flow down system requirements to component definition (including definition of Mechanical / Functional interfaces, stack-up and assembly checks)
Lead and coordinate design activities (internal and external) such as system/product definition. Define SOW and technical specifications and manage relevant work packages.
Define the Bill of Material (part list / MEBUL) and populate Configuration Management System tools
Collect the feedback from development / certification tests (h/w strip inspection) including failure investigation (TOPS8D approach)
Actively participate to the weight and cost reduction effort coordinating design activities interfacing with the AvioAero cross-functional team
Contribute to the development and certification of the product coordinating testing activities (rig design, test plans and test reports issue) Qualifications/Requirements:
Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university or high school technical diploma with relevant work experience
Consistent experience in Mechanical Design
English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral (Italian language will be an additional preference)
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Clear thinking and inclusiveness proven capabilities
Leadership in communicating business goals, program and processes
Knowledge of CAD design tools (preferable NX & Teamcenter) Desired Characteristics:
Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience
Knowledge of gearbox technical requirements, design solutions, technologies
Knowledge of New Product Introduction process based on a previous experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
