Amazon is seeking a Tax Senior Manager (m/f) to focus on primarily corporate income tax reporting and compliance tasks for our Polish entities and potentially our operations in other Central Eastern European (CEE) Countries. As a member of the Foreign Reporting Group, this position will also focus on international aspects of Amazon's worldwide income tax provision. This position will also support the US and international tax controversy teams on audits and the international planning tax team on the compliance and reporting aspects of projects (including M&A and integration). The position will be based in Warsaw (Poland) and will report to the Compliance & Reporting Senior Tax Manager based in Munich (Germany).
Responsible for Polish direct tax compliance and reporting tasks
Responsible for Polish income tax accounting under US GAAP & Polish GAAP
Review tax planning initiatives to determine impacts on worldwide tax provision
Review international aspects of Amazon’s worldwide tax provision
Research tax effects of various international transactions
Support international tax compliance and reporting aspects of Amazon's many growth initiatives
Support US and international tax controversy teams on tax audits in CEE
Drive process improvements and coordinate with Tax Technology Team to facilitate streamlining and automation of recurring calculations
Management of and close collaboration with outside tax service providers
University Degree in Tax Law / Economics / Finance / Accounting or equivalent
10+ years of Tax Accounting / Tax Compliance experience either in a multi-national corporate tax department or public accounting firm with international client base
Strong knowledge of Polish tax law and international income taxation concepts
Strong knowledge of (tax) accounting under Polish GAAP and US GAAP
Polish speaker, Fluency in English
Project and people management experience
Polish Tax Advisor Qualification
Strong tax operational background and ability to drive process improvements
Solid MS Office skills
Experience with accounting software (Oracle, Hyperion,…).
