The Citi Private Bank is supported by a designated Private Bank Operations team which is part of the ICG Operations & Technology group. Within the Private Bank Operations, we are offering a deputy officer position in the Mutual Funds & Alternative Investment Operations. The responsible of a deputy officer includes the authorization of significant value payments, accounting entries and transactions. The deputy officer will be gradually involved in all aspects of daily business to eventually fully act as deputy of the Operations Team Lead as well as helping to manage the timeliness completion of all daily activities. The deputy officer will also have the opportunity to assume other management responsibilities as well as play a significant role in delivering business solutions to enhance products or services.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Transaction approver in settlement of subscription, redemption, corporate Actions, free of payment instructions and other activities related to funds

  • Support Funds Retrocession fee collection process

  • For any issues liaising directly with Fund Houses, Counterparties, Custodians, Service Officers, Bankers, Investment Counselors or Portfolio manager

  • Supporting the Funds OPS Manager in coordinating the daily process, work prioritization, holiday planning and task assignment within the team

  • Participation and coordination in project and business solution delivery

  • Follow-up on discrepancies identified during preventive or detective controls, identify solutions and contribute to the problems solving process

  • Monitor key process indicators

  • Frequently re-assess key process control methodologies

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of expertise in Funds Operations and/or similar areas in fund industry

  • University degree in economics and/or accounting or similar

  • Profound understanding of the various investment products within the area of Mutual Funds and Alternative Investments

  • Background in accounting principals

  • Very good command of English verbally and in writing (German would be an asset)

  • Ability to effectively work on telephone/email with various parties

  • Well organized, working towards tight deadlines

  • Good personal presentational skills, ability to speak in front of the leadership member and larger teams

  • PC literacy, mainly MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint

  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, determined, dedicated, great sense of urgency and accountable

  • Understanding the importance of process controls and diligent execution

  • Very precise, ability to identify anomalies

  • Flexible to work beyond expectations

  • Service oriented mind set, ability to service very demanding and highly influential clientele

  • Always striving to improve processes end to end
