The role has the responsibility for providing expertise client delivery DBA for CTO area.

Job description:

  • Follow strategic technologies, standards and procedures,

  • Oversee projects (business and technology initiated, from design as well as managing life-cycle), controls and compliance and ensure participation and escalation of relevant issues globally, build business relationships with business, follow global initiatives,

  • Handle all Client Requests, Work closely with Clients for New Projects from Initiation to Production cutover Identify cost saving opportunities & implement innovative DB solutions for clients (collaborate with Infrastructure Delivery team as needed),

  • Complete regular Capacity Review and growth across all Applications supported

  • Constantly monitor architecture of the DB environments (COB, High Availability, Replication, Backup Strategy/Retention) to identify opportunities for improvements,

  • Work closely with Clients to remediate gaps/exposures identified by Proactive Reports,

  • Provide guidance to Application teams to remediate Compliance exposures,

  • Provide Query tuning suggestions to Application teams to improve Application performance (collaborate with Support team as needed),

  • Deploy VTM patches and upgrades on DB environments,

  • Test and Implement new features in non-Production environments as per Client needs/requirements,

  • Provide overnight and out-of-hours support.

  • Expert knowledge in Oracle database administration (including GoldenGate)

  • Extensive experience in IT projects as a member of a team building new database environments

  • Experience in working within a distributed environment, ideally some of which will have been within the banking/financials sector, supported by applicable academic qualifications

  • Expert skills in developing and support critical BAU processes in DBA area

  • Good shell programming skills

  • Excellent Communication skills

  • A positive and pro-active attitude

  • Problem Management skills

  • Fluent English
