Apps Sup Intermediate Analyst

Background:

We are seeking a second level support analyst within the Treasury and Trades Services (TTS) Technology Support organization to manage the day-to-day availability of the Flexcube CEEMEA application and ensures issues or status updates are accurately communicated to business users.

The successful candidate will be working closely with their colleagues in London, Belfast, Warsaw, Pune and Bangalore to ensure seamless 24 x 7 support of our applications. In addition, they will work closely with Level 2 Support, L3 Development teams and the TTS business. The ideal candidate should be technically astute, well organized and proactive and be comfortable discussing issues with business and technical users at all levels. They also need to possess good multi-tasking skills. The support team works shifts and it is anticipated that the role will require 75% hands-on work – so technical skills will also be required.

The support team work shifts during the day in order for the team to provide on-site cover between the hours of 7:00 am and 8:00 pm. This allows the support team to cover both our UK and India user base. The candidate must be willing to participate in the work shift rota and also the weekend support rota.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide second level support to a geographically diverse user base

  • Perform analysis and problem investigation to determine root cause and resolution

  • Present strong process awareness and ability to manage incidents, problems and escalations where necessary

  • Collaborate effectively with team members globally sharing information and knowledge effectively

  • Understand the environment of the business areas supported, possess knowledge of end-to-end business and process flows

  • Possess strong communication skills using both technical and non-technical language, translate business issues into technology requirements

  • Complete and maintain appropriate documentation

  • Contribute to and communicate with Incident Management Team, other technology areas , partners on major issue tracking conference calls

  • Cover shifts patterns and provide cover on bank holidays on a rotational basis

  • Ensure appropriate monitoring and alerting process are instituted and executed

  • Be active to raise new initiatives over process and system optimization

  • Adhere to Citi Controls and Audit and Compliance Policies

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of Oracle, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers etc.

  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and scripting skills

  • Knowledge of the financial industry in relation to Core banking, cash management, Loans and deposits in product management, operations or technology is preferred

  • Experience working in a production support is preferred

  • Experience in communication across business and technology stakeholders at varying levels

  • Good technical analysis and troubleshooting skills

  • Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work on multiple problems simultaneously and under the time pressure

  • Ability to prioritize workload

  • Positive can-do approach

  • Good team player with ability to work with others or independently to accomplish tasks

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems

  • Experience using/troubleshooting Office with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Basic understanding of PC hardware setup and configuration

Preferable Skills (Not Essential):

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate

  • Previous knowledge of banking / financial markets
