The Analytics Centre of Excellence

This is an entirely new unit within our business. Devoted to applying big data to clinical trials, this high-profile team aims to be a global leader in the application of big data within the drug development industry. The combination of complex information sets and methodologies is key to accelerating our outputs and by definition the speed at which patients can access new treatments. Data Scientist / Senior Statistician – the role

As a member of a fast growing team, within a growing area of the business, this role presents exciting opportunities for career progression. Working with an enormous breadth of data, you will be able to integrate multiple data assets as you design new studies. With potential to manage a team of statisticians and statistical programmers – both on-shore and off-shore – you will have the opportunity and support to develop truly innovative methodologies and custom studies in support of the business.

Your typical activities might include:

  • Collaborating with business owners, subject matter experts, and go to market teams to develop and deliver analytics.

  • Leveraging data assets to support CRO business, including optimizing design and execution of clinical trials, and improving risk management.

  • Overseeing multiple projects from concept to completion.

  • Directing analytical methodology research, project execution, streamlining processes and efficiencies.

  • Designing and documenting the approach to a study.

  • Managing a team potentially based in multiple locations.


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, and Computer Science or a related field.

  • At least two years of relevant quantitative experience analyzing data.

  • Alternatively, a relevant combination of education, training and work experience.

  • Experience with R and Python.

  • Experience with Spark, SparkR, and PySpark within distributed environment is preferred.

  • Strong SQL or Hive skills.

  • Experience working with large volumes of complex claims data.

  • Local language skills to an advanced level (spoken and written), with complete fluency in English.
