Eaton Corporation has an opening for a SCM Total Cost Out Manager for its Vehicle Group EMEA SCM department.

This position could be located in any Vehicle Group EMEA sites.

SCM Total Cost Out (TCO) Manager

Primary Function

The SCM Total Cost Out (TCO) Manager will be responsible for managing the EMEA TCO process including idea generation, business-case development, cross-functional resource alignment, project-implementation tracking, financial reporting and TCO process improvements. The scope of responsibilities includes global regional material cost performance for VG EMEA. Additionally, this role includes benchmarking of Eaton cross-business and cross-regional TCO processes, as well as industry best practices. Furthermore TCO Manager is covering the role of SCM PMO with the accountability to guarantee data reliability on cost-out performance, reporting out to SCM executive leadership and data alignment with Finance at Plants level for both Indirect and Direct Materials. SCM PMO is responsible to establish right tools and metrics to define governance on processes at regional and global/corporate level. This position reports directly to the SCM Procurement Director for VG EMEA.

Essential Functions

  • Lead as Process Owner for TCO all the processes at Product Line level accountable to creating & implementing PP Cost Out plans, continuous improvements (VAVE) and identification of opportunities to expand best practices across VG businesses. Conduct benchmarking of Eaton and industry- best practices

  • Lead cross functional team (Product Lines/Quality/SCM/Manufacturing/Logistics/Finance) to select, validate and execute VAVE projects while managing projects timeline and resource allocation..

  • Lead the cross-functional TCO Council / Monthly TCO Reviews consisting of key members from SCM, PL/Engineering and Operations.

  • Coordinate with the TCO Council to define the 3Y idea generation strategy and create a master schedule of events for a rolling 18 month period. Conduct events and coordinate required resources/participation and ensure sufficient detail is recorded for ideas to enable subsequent business case development.

  • Develop business cases for TCO ideas to build 3Y Pipeline and in preparation for Decision Gate Committee reviews.

  • Assign Project Owners and ensure detailed implementation plans are put in place. Follow up with Project Owners to ensure milestones are being completed to project timelines. Execute VA/VE and Resourcing projects (in collaboration with CM, PM & SDE).

  • Establish TCO process performance metrics, communicate TCO activities and results, and conduct monthly reviews with business line stakeholders to resolve implementation roadblocks. Train supporting personnel on TCO processes and tools.

  • Conduct supplier’s VA/VE events and support internal supply base continuous improvement events including VA/VE, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing activities.

  • Identify, collect, validate and report out data on cost-out savings on Indirect and Direct Materials for SCM VG EMEA. Process formalization of TCO performance includes validation of the opportunity and prioritization in tandem with Commodity Management organization, Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality as well as full traceability of all projects and supplier readiness monitoring. Provide TCO performance forecasts as inputs to monthly Rolling Forecasts, Profit Plan and Strategic Plan development. Prepare and present continuous TCO process improvement status to executive leadership.

  • Lead Insourcing/Outsourcing discussions from SCM end – support Make or Buy decisions.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in business, technical or supply chain disciplines with 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing based business. MBA is a plus.

  • Leadership practices to manage cross-functional team and drive results through others

  • Ability to inspire others to be aligned on common objectives

  • VG EMEA products design and manufacturing knowledge.

  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, purchasing and supplier management best practices - including supplier selection, APQP, performance metrics/reporting, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement methodologies.

  • Experienced with program/project management tools and techniques.

  • Ability to define problems, eliminate root cause and create supply chain solutions and/or process improvements.

  • Effective people/interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation, communication and customer care skills.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications.

  • Proficient computer-systems knowledge and application skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

  • Working toward or certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

  • Ability to think and act strategically.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to drive organizational change.
