First Data is actively seeking an experienced UI/UX designer to lead prototyping of complex digital acquiring systems including mobile apps. Opportunity to establish processes and standards as well as create and lead design team.
The UX/UI Designer is accountable for researching, developing and executing design solutions for acquiring portals, e-commerce solution and mobile applications.
Lead designer will create and present interaction design concepts (wireframes), prototypes, and produce UI product libraries to communicate to-be design, functionality and features.
Engage directly with consumers, design concepts and prototypes to be tested, and uncover key unmet needs and rapid-prototype solutions to big problems. Translate those solutions to meet the needs of our merchant and financial institutions customers. Analyze the results of testing and research and recommend winning design solutions.
Support and participate in rapid prototyping of ideas and solutions directly with consumers and product teams. Quickly design and construct visual concepts of ideas and learnings that we can prototype with consumers. Develop workflow diagrams, storyboards, wireframes, and functional prototypes for testing.
Engage with consumers and customers directly, uncovering latent needs and getting past what customers say to what they actually do, think, and feel to identify critical insights on which we can build a product. Collaborate with product development, product marketing, sales teams, business development, PR, and other groups to be successful.
Minimum of 5 years experience in User Experience design. Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
BA/BS or advanced degree in the social sciences, interaction design, HCI or related fields. Experience in User Experience design principles and best practices, agile software development process, and prototyping/design. In depth knowledge of user research methodologies, especially ethnography and contextual inquiry. Relevant user interface design experience. Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams/groups/functions. Proficient using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, etc. Demonstrated visual design talent, strategic thinking, and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel projects to deadline in a cross-functional team environment. Skill in translating customer insights to ideas/concepts/products.
No supervisory responsibility, but responsible to take part of lead cross-functional teams. Some travel will be required to be “in the field” engaging directly with consumers.
Take general direction and determine what/how/when in a plan to meet business needs. Strategic thinking and self-guided execution skills needed. Will be a public face of the company to many customers/consumers.
