  • To manage the deployment of our examiners, moderators andverifiers, known as Assessment Associates (AAs), to assessment roles in a givensubject area.

  • To be responsible for ensuring thatsufficient AAs are contracted to meet target requirements in all areas forwhich the Deployment Co-ordinator is responsible.

Key Accountabilities

  • Taking responsibility for a givenqualification area from across the GCE, GCSE and Vocational Qualificationrange, to manage and facilitate the contracting, deployment and allocation ofAssessment Associates (AAs) in line with forecast requirements and to tightdeadlines.

  • To assess requirements and despatch sufficient contracts to ensurefull coverage of the required workforce is achieved by the target date,following up non-replies and ‘topping-up’ to cover AA withdrawals.

  • Allocate AAs to all approved BTEC centres for which a service isprovided, preparing Verification Schedule and issuing contracts.

  • Ensure that AA contracts Terms and Conditions and other relevantdocumentation are despatched within agreed timescales.

  • There may also be a requirement to become involved in aspecialised area, such as the deployment of AAs to cover various businesscritical activities.

  • To maintain a customer service focus on the relevant AA group,managing the relationship from the list of available AAs through tostandardisation, and re-standardisation if required. This will involveresponsibility for maintaining and updating records using different databasesystems and responding to queries, both directly and via the CustomerRelationship Management system.

  • Proficiency needs to be established with various systems includingiSeries, Business Objects and IQS to ensure that all information is correct andup to date, so that the interface with other interdependent systems is secure.

  • Provide accurate MI reports for qualification areas ofresponsibility to analyse progress.

  • Monitor allocations by sector and identify and report to the TeamLeader shortages with supporting evidence

  • Assisting with additional or ad hoc contracting during busy timesor to cover during absence

  • Assisting colleagues within the Deployment team with theirworkload during peak times.

  • Liaison will be required with other stakeholders and their areasof the business in order to achieve business objectives.

  • Supervision of temporary workers isoccasionally required.

  • Participation in administrative tasks involvedin the payment process for AAs may be required.

Key Challenges

This role is business-critical and covers anessential phase in the successful delivery of the GCE, GCSE and VocationalQualifications. Team members need to remain focused while working to tightdeadlines, yet also need to be sufficiently flexible to manage the varyingpriorities, meeting deployment targets while answering customer queries, actingas a subject-specific contact while responding to urgent situations thatfrequently arise during the examination period etc.
